In a recent press release made available to NegroidHaven, the West Africa College of Nursing yesterday 12 October honoured the Cross River State Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon John Gaul Lebo with an award of excellence.

The Excellence award, according to the College of Nursing, was in recognition of the Mr Lebo’s invaluable contribution to the development of the Health sector in Cross River.

While receiving the award in his office, the Speaker observed that providing quality healthcare for all was one of the utmost priorities of the Mr Ben Ayade led administration of Cross River, adding that he would continue to contribute his quota towards making healthcare a topmost priority of the government.

He charged the West Africa College of Nursing to stay resolute to its sworn commitment to promoting professional standards and excellence through nursing education both at primary and secondary levels.

In her presentation, the leader of the West African College of Nursing delegation, Mrs Christiana Umo-Otong thanked the Speaker for the indispensable contributions towards healthcare development in state, emphasising that the recently passed Cross River State Health Insurance Law which was a product of the Assembly’s individual member bill was a step in the right direction.

She solicited the Assembly’s continuous support to help facilitate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) in Cross River State health sector.
