Fear was real in the air as the present shinning sun as business premises were shutting down hurriedly, individuals running away and to where they were not sure. Intelligence I gathered this morning of yesterday's unrest in Calabar South.

Apparently, it wasn't a cult rivalry but a planned armed robbery.

Some parts of Atamunu, Mayne-Avenue and Ekpo Abasi were ransacked.
A car was also snatched.

This is under the cover of Mbukpa Police Division's jurisdiction. A max drive time of 5mins yet police never showed up. Our residents face this unrest everyday of their lives.

The Local Government Authority has showed no concerns or whatever because they are handicapped. A government characterized by pick and drop officials who don't know their onions…should the state government be responsible for everything?

This is the state of things today.

Ini-Obong Uko
Armed Robbers just struck at Ekpo Abasi /Yellow Duke. A super market and Pharmacy robbed. Innocent people scrambling for safety. 20 minutes ago.

I reported yesterday that the CRSG has began grassing of the carnival route in respect of the Carnival Calabar 2016. Is the present state government actually sure it wants the annual event to hold this year? Or, should we be anticipating a carnival of armed robbery, fear, terror, stealing, maiming and the like? Will these bandits have their band this year? Are they practicing what they will do this year December? Hmmmmmm…
