No doubt, the present economic situation is seriously hitting hard on all and sundry.
It is in view of combating the recession plaguing our nation Pres. Buhari in the company of his aides have channelled their arsenals towards a demand for spiritual prayers and intercessions for Nigeria.
According to our source, Buhari and the Senate President (Bukola Saraki) will be joining thr Christian legislators in the National Assembly including the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara to offer prayers special heart boiling prayers to God for the recovery of the country.
Laying credence to Vanguard, Pres.Buhari and Saraki were at the 55th Independence Day ceremony at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
The prayer conference which is the 7th annual National Prayer meeting and breakfast event was organised by the Christian lawmakers in the federal capital territory.
The event is slated to hold at the ICC( International Conference Centre), Abuja . it is tagged: Tree and its fruits: Is yours a blessing or a curse to Nigeria.
During a session with newsmen, the President of Christian Legislators Fellowship, Sen.Barnabas Gemade, along with other members of the forum informed that its the aim of the event to inspire righteousness and godliness in leadership.
He further avers that 'there is a need for leaders in the country to uphold righteousness as a virtue in the discharge of their duties, adding that the prayer breakfast was also aimed at building bridges of unity and engenders harmony and progress'.
He argued unequivocally that the national prayer breakfast was a world known event and an interdenominational gathering for market place Christians to honour and praise God.
In his words:
“In a chaotic world with various challenges, crisis situations, hard struggles and sufferings, we need God.”
“Hence we intend to offer prayers to God to perfect all that concerns us as a nation and usher us into a new beginning in this season.
“It will be a cherished opportunity that reminds us that no matter how much responsibility we have or how fancy our titles or how much power we think we hold, we are imperfect vessels.
“…We pray that many patriotic nationals will join us as we pray to God of all creation to direct our noble cause,”.
