Despite making seven changes to the side that hold off Liverpool on Monday at Anfield, Jose Mourinho still knows when and how to place his jigsaw to give the finishing touch. It was a night of glints and glamour for Paul Pogba as he made two goals to his name. A good one prior to the game ahead, a clash at the Bridge.
Much criticised Worlds most expensive player 'Paul Pogba', was on par for the win over Fernabache at Old Trafford in the European League Cup. Something United fans should be excited about looking forward to the away trip to Chelsea.
The first goal came from Pogba, with a converted penalty through a foul by Simon Kjaer on Juan Mata, after Michael Carrick – picked out the Spaniard in the opposition area with a clever pass.
Wayne Rooney who captained his side, looked short of nerves as he allowed Pogba to take the penalty, despite having just one goal to his name this season. Paul neatly converted the spot kick to make it 1-0 for United.
Anthony Martial was awarded a penalty after been fouled by Fernabache Sener Ozbayrakli, a clinical pass from Juan Mata as he neatly converted the spot kick in the 34th minutes, three minutes from the time Paul Pogba converted his own spot kick. Wayne Rooney again losing his self confidence to step out, and regain his confidence and mojo.
He manages to get an assist though, witj his pass setting up Paul Pogba who made it 3-0 before the stroke of half-time by neatly placing the ball at the top right corner of the goal post.
Young Jesse Lingard had his pound of flesh too, as he received a pass through a combined effort from Pogba and Rooney as he struck a low finish past Volkan Demirel's to make it 4-0 for United.
Former United striker Robin Van Persie, converted a cross from Nigerian's own Emanuel Amunike for Fernabache in the 83rd minute and immediately received a standing ovation. But it only a consolation as the game ended 4-1.
