NegroidHaven: I got wind of information that the government of Cross River State will be paying local government staff their salaries tomorrow. I wish to confirm that?

John Ulafor: Yes, absolutely correct. As I speak to you now I am still in the office just doting the Is and crossing the Ts for the payment…

NegroidHaven: Sir, are…

John Ulafor:… For August, September

NegroidHaven: That is, for two months?

John Ulafor: Pensioners and teachers will be paid too for two months.

NegroidHaven: Thank you very much

The above discussion constitute what transpired between NegroidHaven and the Cross River State Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Mr. John Ulafor yesterday evening in a phone interview.

As we can reliably glean the August and September salaries of local government staff in the state including that of teachers and pensioners will be paid today 21 October.

In a separate discussion, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Executive Governor of Cross River State on Branding, Dr. Dormclaimz Enamhe assured Cross Riverians that their salaries will be paid. Enamhe made this known yesterday via an online chat with state leading social commentator, Prince Thomas Abi Jr, who queried the non payment of salaries to LG staff in the state. In his response Enamhe had this to say:

'Not a problem Prince, I I just took it up with Hon. John Ulafor the Hon Commissioner for local government and he says I should quote him, he will deliver tomorrow, the issue will be over tomorrow,

'You know John Ulafor keeps his word, many thanks for speaking up', he concluded.

We want to believe that the Commissioner for LG Affairs will keep his word.
