Fellow Cross Riverians,
We sincerely use this medium to felicitate all Nigerians on this auspicious day in the commemoration of our independence as a nation.
Our forebears fought tirelessly for our sovereignty from the fetters of the colonial masters through spiling of blood and intense sweating. We mustn’t allow the labour of their hands to be in vain by acceding to the monstrous conditions posed at us due to the challenges of insurgencies, the economic crunch and all forms of negative vicissitudes of the moment.
We enjoin all Nigerians irrespective of our different of tongues; tribes, age, geopolitical zones, religious affinity, political affiliation or ideology to brace to confront the common enemies of our dear nation which comes in the verisimilitude of corruption, religious intolerance, ineptitudeness of our leaders and social injustice.
We also encourage the youths to stand up and legitimately agitate for their rights of leadership under the prencinct of the rule of law.
Also, let us shun violence, thuggery, cultists, shun nepotism, militancy and all forms of antisocial vices. Rather, let’s conjoin forces together and channel our intellectual capacities to the building of a better Nigeria of our dreams.
We call on the leadership of our nation to expedite action by using new level of mindset in solving the menace bewildering our economy.
Nigerians deserved the best and what this government is giving the people are below their expectations.
Long live Nigeria!
