Engr Godwin Apple Agim and Bobby Agba Ilam nee Kpans B Kpans are Cross Riverians in the diaspora who have both made Nigeria proud. Messrs Agim and Ilam are both Obudu-born. Mr Ilam was last week, exactly on the 16 of September declared to be an American citizen. These are the exact words of the auspicious declaration: ‘We extend a warm welcome to you as a new citizen of the United States of America. This momento is given to you with all good wishes on this important day in your life’. Mr Agim who is a Finnish citizen has been nominated as ‘Peace Ambassador to Nigerians in the Diaspora (Worldwide)’.
The award presentation shall be a special feature of the upcoming “Nigerians in Diaspora Dialogue on Peace and Reconciliation in Nigeria” being facilitated by the Universal Peace Federation and scheduled to hold on September 24, 2016 by 10 am at the 4 West 43rd Street, New York, USA. The United Nations General Assembly will on the 23rd September, receive and addressed the new appointees at the same venue by the UN Secretary General before the award ceremony.
A popular social commentator in Cross River State, Joseph Odok, while congratulating Mr Agim noted that, ‘I write to congratulate our Cross River born Amb. Engr. Godwin Apple on his appointment an Ambassador of Peace, (World-wide) representing not only Cross Riverians but the entire Nigerians in Diaspora…Thanks for making Cross River State and Nigeria proud’.
Commenting a few days ago after his confirmation as American citizen, Mr Ilam observed that, ‘one word we all desire for; “FREEDOM” to me. My freedom of worship, speech on issues without fear of victimisation, freedom of choice and freedom to be accepted into any part of the world of my choice as a naturalized American citizen’.
‘HOWEVER, governance is a fragile institution that must be handled smartly at all times because it got to do with character; and character and integrity are the greatest ASSETS of any leader’.
‘BUT once this begins to get flank down just, know that  you are losing track and there is a need for a flashback and a possible overhauling. This is because optimism does not mean fostering delusions (misapprehension). It is very necessary for any sincere leader whose church mind is to lead selflessly to present all difficulties and dangers frankly and fully to your people because it is their resources’.
‘Yes, you may have the idea that your STRATEGY is that of a transformable one that PUT smiles on the faces of your people. But I still feel there is that one need to explain objectives and goals as well as creating a common cause with those you lead, by presenting a clear picture of the benefits and consequences of your proposed actions’, Undeshi continued.
‘Yes, this is because we are all stakeholders in this business, most especially if the perspective for the futuristics of your people is not conceivable to them. Remember, leadership is all about being dynamic.  Openness at all times is the key. Xray from all hypothesis as provided by the variable’, he concluded.
