It was a gathering of who is who in the political circle of the people of Mbube East as Mr Emma Elom, a one time supervisor in Ogoja, a former House of Assembly Aspirant and presently Director in Ogoja Urban Development Authority, a stakehoder of high repute with Mr Apeh James, a former SA/Supervisor in Ogoja and Mr Chris Abang a serving chief press secratary to Hon Rita Agbo Ayim hosted the Charpter Chairman of PDP Ogoja, Mr Paul Adinye and the entire Exco of PDP Mbube- East to a grand style recently.
The function which took place last week sunday in Mr Emma Elom's country home in Ogberia was described as a new dawn in the political atmosphere of the people of the area.
Speaking during the dinner Mr. Emma Elom thanked Ogoja people and the governor, Prof Ben Ayade to have heard the cry of the people by zoning the position of Chapter Chairman to Mbube-East for the first time. He also thanked Hon Jarigbe Agom, Hon Rita Ayim for standing tall behind Mr Paul Adinye.
Mr Emma Elom assured the people of the area that with the combination of Chris Abang, Apeh James, Mr. Paul Adinye, Hon Sam Ogeh, and the entire ward Exco, the youths of the area will surely be carried along.
He used the occassion to call for unity among his people, stressing that without unity the people of Mbube- East will not get anything politically.
Speaking also Mr Apeh James of Mbube- East Ward 2 thanked Governor Ayade for making Barr Joe Abang a Commissioner and used the occassion to call for unity and pleaded with the Governor to still appoint more sons of the area.
He stressed that the hosting of the Chapter is an indication of a new dawn. That Emma Elom is the new political leader whom the youth of the area will rally around.That the people need a leader with a direction, hence Emma Elom has domonstrated leadership by collaborating with the leaders of the ward to host the Chapter Chairman and the entire ward Exco of PDP.
While Mr Chris Abang assured the people of the area their support and called for unity if the ward mostly move forward. He advised that party members must shun bitterness and work as a big family. Also the ward Charman who spoke on behalf of the ward Exco commended Mr. Emma Elom and his team for recognising them, especially the chairman. They stressed that he was the first leader from the area to recognise their own. That the people have pledged their total loyalty to move the area forward.
Speaking also Hon Rita Agbor Ayim thanked the host Mr. Emma Elom and his team for hosting the ward Exco with the Chapter Chairman. She said was a good thing the people have recognised their own and stressed what happen today is as a result of the love that exist among the people of Mbube -East 1/2.
She assured them that she will do her best to work with those who have the interest of the people at heart,and called for more unity.
Responding Mr. Paul Adinye thanked Mr. Elom and his team for the love he has shown on him with his ward Exco.He also thanked Governor Ayade for hearing the cries of his people and also believing in him. He said will surely carry the massage of the the people to the approaite authority. He thanked all the people that gave him support, especially Governorr ben Ayade,Hon Rita Agbo Ayim,Hon Jarigbe Agom , Chief Patrick Okem and a host of others supporters.
Among those present were the Leader of Council, Hon Chris Moshe, Hon Joe Agabi Councillor Nkum Ibor, Chapter Secretary of PDP, Executive Director Urban Development Authority, Mr Egah Mgbantul ,Mr James Aninenge Secretary of Council, traditional rulers of East 1/11, party stakeholder a host of others.
