'A star has fallen from the roof of the sky,' This is sad!
It is with a heavy heart that we inform about the death of a 20 year old highly talented Nigerian Midfielder, Michael Umanyika.
According to LIB, Umanyika died in the early hours of Monday, the 15th of August while training with his foreign club, First Division club, Zagatala PFK in Azerbaijani.
"Azerbaijani is a country in the Transcaucasian region, situated between Southwest Asia and Southeastern Europe".
Local media report avers that the Nigerian footballer, suddenly slumped during a training session and all efforts to 'get him back on his feet' proved abortive.
He was however later confirmed dead by medical experts on arrival at the hospital.
What was more surprising was the fact that, it was his first training session with Zagatala PFK club after returning from his Nigerian home country where he had spent his vacation.
What must have gone wrong?
Could this unfortunate incidence of his death be connected to his vacation experience?
How on earth could he just die like that? What offense did he commit(if any) and to whom?
I speak as an African with an in depth understanding of the peculiarity of the African traditional Igbo world view which posits that ihe di nwere isi na o du" (whatever exists has a missing link of reality).
These are a few amongst many questions begging for answers. May his soul find rest in peace.
