Uefa Champions League winners has begun the second half of this year's campaign with a promising start to the new season with a 3-2 victory of Europa Cup winners Sevilla. A 93rd minute header from Real Madrid's captain Sergio Ramos gave Madrid the victory and set them rolling for the start to the new season.

Real Madrid has been without some key notable players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale during their preseason, and despite their absence they have been outstanding. With preseason International Champions Cup competition, we saw an outstanding performance from almost a second eleven players beating the likes of Chelsea 3-2 and German giants Bayern Munich 1-0, which proves promising to a good start to the upcoming season.

They have carried the good form and extend it with a win against a compact team of Sevilla who has proven to be a regular face in the tournament's cup but always fail to clinch it.

The absence of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale seems certain to be giving a new dimension to coach Zinedine Zidane to always have a plan B in the absence of their regular and key starters.

Zidane was highly impressed after captain Sergio Ramos inspired the team to victory, and said of him; "Sergio Ramos is our captain, an important player and he's always there to earn us the trophy. There were no special instructions for him.

"With a player like Sergio, he's always been the difference. We've seen it before. He's grown as a player, too. In this final he was there just where he needed to be."
