The dream team U23 Olympic squad shook off a disappointing delayed flight from Atlanta USA to raid Japan 5-4 in their group B opening match.

The team had initially been delayed for take off due to unpaid chattered flight, but regardless of their delayed trip turned out a good show of football which ended in a 5-4 goal triller.

Samson Siasia who secured silver medal at the 2008 Games in Beijing, is in a second spell in charge of the U-23 side with senior player John Mikel Obi captaining the team.

After Sadiq Umar opening the goal for Nigeria, it was Oghenekaro Etebo who stole the show as he scored four goal in the match that produces four goals in five minutes . Nigeria beat Japan 5-4 to go top of Group B in the Rio Olympics.
