As part of effort to strengthen primary healthcare delivery in the state, the Governor of CRS has approved the next round of integrated supportive supervision of selected PHC facilities in the state. The aim of the exercise is to do on-the spot check of the quality of primary healthcare services rendered in the state.
In the words of the Governor "one of the main policy trust of this administration is to deliver quality health care to the door steps of Cross Riverians through a revitalized primary health care system.
The DG noted that the primary healthcare system can not be impactful if it does not undertake quarterly ISS.
"for us to be sure we are on the right track to achieve the desires of His Excellency, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade which is to revitalize Primary health centers we must be in the field to be sure our workers are present at work and they have the right skills for quality service delivery in the PHCs. We have selected 196 PHC's facilities for this round one in every ward where our team will be going with CHAI team to carry out ISS with the right supervision tools to do on-the-spot check and training of PHC workers.
This exercise will afford us the opportunity to test our new CRSPHCDA data tools and build capacity of PHC workers for improved service delivery and reduce truancy in the PHC system.
Also speaking, Dr Ana Onabiene, Director PHC said he is grateful to this administration for bringing back the ISS strategy. He also thanked the CHAI group for their impactful partnership.
