The Health Commissioner, Cross River State, Dr Mrs Inyang Asibong, weekend, inspected medical facilities during the FIFA U-20 match between Nigeria and Burundi at the U. J. Esuene Stadium Calabar.
Speaking in an interview with the press after the inspection of the Medical facilities, the Commissioner stated that the Medical Center and the ambulance with ancillary medical facilities are well equipped for any international sporting activities in the state.
In her words, "As you can see, the Medical Center and the ambulance with ancillary medical facilities are well equipped for any international sporting activities in the state, we are known for sports medicine, we have personnel who were trained in sports medicine, we have one who was sent last month for the training and she is back to join her colleagues, His Excellency, Senator Prof Benedict Ayade want us to practice as professionals. Cross River State is one of the best when it comes to sport medicine, we have our testimonial to show for it".
This was the second time the Commissioner had inspected the medical facilities since her appointment.
On the initial inspection, the Commissioner promised to put the Medical facilities to a standard before the National Sport Festival that will be hosted in Cross River State.
