It can be recalled that Ogoja local government area was in darkness for over two months until the residents of Ogoja started complaining bitterly which resulted to a public affairs analyst, Prince Thomas Abi Jr., taking  to his Facebook timeline where he called on the leaders of Ogoja to do something about the electricity situation in the area.

"#Give Ogoja light! The good people of Ogoja are in darkness. Hon. Jarigbe Agom, Hon. Peter Odey, Madam Rita Agbo Ayim, Hon. Timmy Tom, Barr. Oshie Joe Abang. Please do something over the two months blackout in Ogoja".

To that effect many leaders of Ogoja moved swiftly towards restoring the electricity problem.

The member representing Ogoja in the State House of Assembly, Hon Peter Odey said in his response to Prince Abi's call said,

"Over the weekend we resolved the issues of light in ogoja. It was a collective effort by all concerned. I'm sure any moment from now PHCN will get back to work. We understand the difficulties the people of ogoja have  gone through over this period and this is deeply regretted".

The Commissioner for Power, Hon Timmy Tom also contacted Prince Abi and told him that he was in contact with the management of PHED and the light situation would be handled.

In his response on the restoration of the light, Prince Abi said he felt happy that the leaders of Ogoja did the needful towards putting smiles on the faces of the Ogoja people and that he would continue to work towards the growth of Ogoja in anyway he can.

He also thanked Hon Jarigbe Agom, Hon Peter Odey, Hon Timmy Tom,  the Chairman of Ogoja, Madam Rita Agbo Ayim and the Secretary Of Ogoja Local government, Hon Jimmie Aninege  for coming together towards solving the electricity situation in Ogoja.

He further charged them to continue to work towards the growth and development of Ogoja.
