The Director General(DG) of Cross River State Primary Health Care Development Agency (CRSPHCDA), Dr.( Mrs.) Betta Edu, received members of Society for Health (SFH) in her office yesterday 9 March.
The SFH team who came on a working visit to intimate the DG of their One Day Stakeholders, Advocacy & Sensitization Dialogue on Exclusive Breast Feeding in Cross River State also sought support from the agency in all areas of their activities in the state.
Briefing the DG, Comfort Effiom, emphasized on the importance of the advocacy and sensitization dialogue on exclusive breast feeding which is aimed at introducing and mobilising support of key community influencers especially in Cycle 8 communities for Exclusive Breast Feeding intervention.
In her response, Dr. Edu thanked the organization for coming and pledged total support for their upcoming program. She informed them of the state governor, Senator. Prof Ben Ayade's passion for quality health care delivery to the people and his willingness to always support any health outreach to the grassroot by partners. She said the agency will mobilize from two Local Government areas for the One Day Stakeholders Sensitization Dialogue on Exclusive Breast Feeding. She noted that the program will go a long way in enlightening mothers on breast feeding especially in rural areas.
Highpoint of the visit was donation of SFH customized office file holders to the DG, calling for a better working relationship as they thanked the state Governor for taking a wise step at a right time by upgrading the department to an agency and retaining the S.A as the first DG of the Board.
