The above photo was according to our correspondent sent in this morning by a concerned Facebook user.
LIB identified his name as Nura Alkali. He shared this frightening sight on his Facebook page.
Commentators considered the photo as an eyesore, a death trap which is typical of most Nigerian roads and transportation routes.
Unfortunately, this site is alleged to still be in use even as we speak. A look at it shows nothing but a quack engineering work.
To my mind, I suppose that there is no better title for this photo than that conceived above by the late African writer and Nobel laureate, Prof. Chinua Achebe .
Nura Alkali(The Poster) described the photo above in his Facebook page as a death trap!
Below is an excerpt from Nura's page..
"This is Tamburawa Bridge in Kano, which is still in use. Rest assured that a sudden collapse resulting in fatalities will meet with "ikon Allah", "kwana ya kare". . . The engineer who came up with this temporary solution should be sacked and prosecuted for public endangerment."
Critical Comments:
We call for the Government of Kano state to a quick intervention ; a temporary closure of this route for a complete rehabilitation with the aide of experienced and qualified engineers. According to the popular saying, Prevention they say is better than cure.
