Calabar Municipal Government under the present Chairmanship has named a street in Calabar metropolis after Gov. Ben Ayade. The name of the street shall be referred to as BEN AYADE BOULEVARD.
The Ben Ayade Boulevard envelopes the areas beginning from WAPI Junction down to Inland Waterway.
However, this move by the local government council authority has not gone down well with some Cross Riverians especially those in the diaspora who were ably represented by one Richard Duke who pooh poohed the idea, on his social media page, in the following words: 'Isn't this self deification a bit too early? Does Ayade deserve this above Liyel Imoke and Donald Duke who both governed for 8 years each?'
I am posing the same question to you now,' Isn't this self deification a bit too early?' What do you think?
