HEALTH: CRS to Receive Cold Chain Equipment Worth Millions, CRSG Seeks Support for Primary Healthcare

The Special Adviser, Dr.(Mrs.) Betta Edu visited head of EU-SIGN in Nigeria during her four days working visit to different Federal parastatals and International Donors seeking support in areas of PHC and Immunization programme for the state.

In her passionate drive to ensuring quality health care delivery in the state in accordance with set targets of his excellency Senator. Prof Ben Ayade's led administration. The S.A listed out their challenges especially in connection with the cold chain system, which includes Direct Solar Drive Refrigerator, Means of transportation for vaccines to hard-to-reach areas and data collection tools at both LGA and state levels.

The Head of EU-SIGN Nigeria lauded the S.A for being proactive and pledged to support the state with 16 big size Direct Drive Solar Refrigerators and 8 small size Direct Drive Solar Refrigerators. This according to him will address some cold chain gaps in LGA's/Wards in the state. This he stated is a support in line with the National Policy and strategy to phase out the erstwhile non user friendly non-solar refrigerators in the system.

On the demands for means of transportation to take vaccines to hard-to-reach areas and computer systems for data collection/analysis which will  also help CRS avoid institutional memory lost, he assured Cross River State of EU-sign support to provide  motorcycles, tricycles in effort to addressed needs of these critical areas. computer systems were also in the offering.

He assured the Special Adviser of EU SIGN quick response to their demands. The S.A thanked him and the management team of the organization in the country for the warm reception accorded to her and promised to take the message to His excellency, Senator. Prof. Ben Ayade, Cross River State Governor.
