To my mind, the chronicled evangelism and call for Rebranding The Nation, which the late former Boss of NAFDAC cum the Ex minister of Information, Prof Dora Akunyili did clamour for and prophesied, have now seen the light of day. Having manifested in the Governmental round table decision and conclusive conclusion to rebrand the NYSC Certificate.
Information from our source, reveals that the Government has now unveiled what we may describe as a newly improved National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificates to be issued to corps members at the conclusion of the mandatory one year service to their fatherland.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony in Abuja, the Director General of the NYSC, Brig-Gen. Johnson Olawumi said the scheme took the bold step in order to wage war against such irresponsible acts of forgery and impersonation which without irrefutable evidence has plagued the Aboriginal purpose of the NYSC scheme.
According to one Mr Olawumi(spokesperson for the DG) the issuance of the new NYSC certificate would take effect from Batch ‘C’ 2014, who will be passing out this October “citeris paribus “.
