Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho is looking to strengthen his squad for next season in defence of the League title and League Cup won last season, and in challenge for all front on all titles this season.
Chelsea are looking to add more flair to their attack, after already purchasing Radamel Falcao on loan from Monaco, and Mourinho is never afraid of creating competition among players as he has now turn his attention to Barcelona winger
Pedro who has seen his chances limited due to the scintillating combination of Luis Suarez, Neymar and Messi.
The move is getting close to be a reality as Barca Coach Luis Enrique admitted he will not stand in the Spain winger's way should he decide to quit for Stamford Bridge.
According to report reaching us, Chelsea have agreed to meet his buy-out clause of £22m. Pedro only signed a new contract last month committing his future to the Spanish giants until 2019. But Barcelona have since agreed to lower the whopping £106m buy-out clause in that deal, should he wish to leave.
The Blues have already offered the 27-year-old a four-year contract and are confident of completing the transfer without a hitch.
But it cannot be finalised until after Barcelona's presidential elections take place this weekend.
When asked about his situation this week, Pedro said: "There are offers for me this summer and the situation is difficult.
"Any player wants to have playing time but it is getting more and more difficult with every season that passes.
"I would like to have finished my career here but we will have to see what happens. Obviously you are happier when you can play."
The deal sparked up to life when Spanish teammate Cesc Fabregas joined Jose Mourinho in persuasion of Pedro to Stamford-bridge rather than his former club Arsenal. And Pedro knows this move would increase his chances of featuring in the upcoming Euro 2016 Competition, as he has been guaranteed a bigger role at Chelsea.
What now will be left of Juan Cuadrado and Oscar who had limited chances of featuring into Jose Mourinho starting eleven last season? Could this further speculate the imminent exit of Oscar to Italian Champions Juventus who has long been an admirer of his game. And has been wanted by Juve Coach Massimiliano Allegri?
