Jordan Henderson has been officially named Liverpool captain after the departure of club Legend Stephen Gerrard to MLS league side LA Galaxy.
According to Stephen Gerrard, 25 year old Jordan Henderson is a great, professional and humble lad with a winning mentality. Jordan Henderson signed a new five year deal with Liverpool in April.
Stephen Gerrard spent 17 years at the club made 710 appearances for Liverpool, and has won 10 trophies including the Champions League all with Liverpool. Stephen Gerrard has commented on the recent happenings with Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson saying; "Raheem and Jordan are at different ends of the scale, Jordan's so professional, he's a winner, a great lad.
"I don't think there's a more fitting player to take that armband off me. I see a lot of my game in Jordan's game and what I like about him is he's very humble." With Stephen Gerard also expressing his disappointment with Sterling.
Raheem Sterling who has told Liverpool earlier he doesn't want to travel with them to the Far east with their preseason tour, has missed training with Liverpool since Wednesday with report of phoning sick. Raheem Sterling lack of interest has come with report of break down in relationship with Manager Brendan Rodgers is the reason of rejecting a new deal with Liverpool, and perhaps maybe with recent interest from Manchester City as well who has had a £40m fee rejected by Liverpool for his signature.
