Liverpool 20 year old wonder kid Raheem Sterling dream move away from Liverpool is due to materialise as Liverpool has reportedly agree a £49m deal with Manchester City after seeing two initial bids rejected by the Reds.
Sterling who has two years left on his contract refused to sign a new deal offered to him worth £100,000 a week, as he bluntly refused to sign and was booed at the club’s end of season award.
Liverpool Stephen Gerrard who left for United States has criticised the young star for his unruly behaviour, and said he was disappointed with his actions.
Sterling has asked to be excused from the club’s tour for their pre-season but wasn’t granted by Liverpool, and he went on to miss two training sessions both Wednesday and Thursday citing illness.
Sterling joined Liverpool from Queens Park Ranger’s academy in 2010. While the fee will be the second highest Liverpool have ever received, QPR will be due a 20 percent sell-on fee, giving them £8.8 million.
He made his senior England debut in 2012 and has scored one goal in 16 appearances.
He has scored 23 goals in 129 games for Liverpool since making his debut in 2012.
City will pay an initial £44 million with a further £5 million in add-ons as Sterling will become their first major summer signing. When the deal finally goes through, he will be the most expensive Englishman and City’s most expensive signing ever.
