According to reports reaching us from SkySport, Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie has agreed a four year contract with Turkish side Fernabahce.

Fenerbahce director Guiliano Terraneo travelled to London recently to discuss a potential deal with United chiefs for the 31-year-old Netherlands striker, who has one year left on his contract at Old Trafford, although United have yet to comment on the situation.

The Dutch striker who led United to their 20th league title under Sir Alex Ferguson last year in charge at Old Trafford scoring 26 League goals is set to move to the Turkish side. After disappointing two seasons that followed due to consistent and persistent injury woes, Van Persie now looks set heading for a new challenge.

Van Persie's wife Bouchra was intiallly against the move citing safety reasons but was convinced after visit to the Capital.

Fernabahce will officially announce the signing before weekend, as there are still some details needed to be finalised with Van Persie himself.
