Arturu Vidal 28 years old, who is currently representing Chile at the ongoing tournament Copa America was heavily involved in a car acciden on Tuesday night, but fortunately for himself and his wife it wasn't a fatal one.
Vidal while publicly apologising has admitted he went to the Casino, had two bottles of drink and was with his wife in his expensive Ferrari that cost him £230,000.
Arturo Vidal who has been charged with drink driving, was found 1.2g of alcohol per litre in his blood. He verbally confronted the police after the accident occurred by saying: Handcuff me, but you will be sh****** on the whole of Chile,' Vidal added. 'Don't make things any harder,' the officer responds. 'How did I f*** it up? Stop talking nonsense.'
Vidal, the leading scorer at the Copa America, avoided a jail sentence but must report monthly to the Chilean consulate in Milan under the terms of his release while investigations go on for 120 days.
Arturo Vidal has apologises to his teammates, his coach, his wife for putting her life in danger, the fans and everyone else involved in the accident. He has gained massive support from fans who were waiting outside the court in San Bernardo as the Judge delivers his verdict on Wednesday.
Arturo Vidal may have just been too excited as he is the tournament top leading goal scorer with three goals for Chile. He drove his expensive ride to the training ground day next day after he scored twice against Mexico to earn Chile a point before going reckless Tuesday night. And for the time being his drivers licence has been temporarily revoked from him.
