Chelsea Coach Jose Mourinho has indicated his interest earlier last week in signing Colombia striker Radamel Falcao who failed to live up to expectation playing for Manchester United last season.
The Special One said: "If I can help Falcao reach his level again, I will do it.
"It hurts me that people in England think that the real Falcao is the one we saw at Manchester United."
Radamel Falcao started his Youth career with Colombian side Lanceros Boyaca. Then his senior career also with the same club at the age 13years 1999-2001. He then moved to Argentina River plate 2001-2009 at the age of 15years old. From River plate he joined the Portuguese side Porto in 2009-2011 at the age of 23years for just €3m. He made instant success in his first season scoring 34 goals in 42 games. The second season he went on to score 39 goals in 42 games helping Porto secure treble for the season, Portuguese League, Portuguese Cup and Europa League. For his prolific goal scoring Falcao was then nick named 'El Tigre' meaning Tiger. Falcao moved from Porto to Atletico for a reported €40m in 2011 where he spent two seasons there. His first season he began his trademark of goals by scoring 24 goals in La Liga, winning the European League which he netted twice as Atletico beat Athletic Bilbao in 2012. And also went on to score an hat-trick against Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup to make him the first ever player to score a hat-trick in the contest since it reform in 1998 which the game ended 4-1 at the Monaco's State Louis II home. In his last season he left with just Copa del Rey where Atletico defeated Real Madrid ending the 14 year unbeaten streak which with Real Madrid.
After his goals against Chelsea in UEFA Super Cup, he made it unambiguously clear that he was among Europe's best strikers. And after the game Chelsea became more interested in his signature. But rather a year later snubbed Real Madrid and Chelsea to join Monaco on an Astronomical fee of €60m Ligue 1 record fee on a five year deal the year 2013/2014 season. He was plague with injury playing for Monaco in a Cup match and ruptured his knee which dent his chances of featuring in the World cup and ruled him out of the season. The 2014/2015 season he was loaned to Manchester United for €6m with the option upon his performance to sign him on a permanent deal worth €43.2m. But Falcao stay in Old Trafford was his worse of his career ever since he has been in his prime. Falcao ended up scoring a scanty 4 goals in 29 appearances with 4 assists. He was then sent back to his Parent club Monaco as the club wasn't by his performance.
The self acclaimed special one has put on the switch by coming out opening indicating his interest to sign Falcao and believes he can help me recover his past glory days. Prior to his move to Chelses , Falcao has scored mountains of goals wherever he has played, and has been described as futuristically complete – powerful, graceful, balanced, and ruthless.
Radamel Falcao who is named after a 1982 World Cup Brazilian midfield star "Falcao", is set to join Chelsea and formal announcement regarding the deal will be made later this week according to report reaching us.
Falcao who has scored 153 goals in 197 competitive club appearances was receiving a whopping £265k at Old Trafford in his loan deal with United but he is willing to take a pay cut to remain in the Premier League.
How much do you think Falcao pay should be to join Chelsea, his weekly pay and loan fee? Will he be a good move for Chelsea, and can Jose Mourinho help to resuscitate his prowess he was known for?
