The rumour lingering of Pep Guardiola joining Manchester City next season could prove to be a determining factor causing unrest in the dressing room that is eventually leading to bad results in the run of four games for Bayern. Pep Guardiola has admitted though they have been some challenges just after the first leg loss against Barcelona.
Bayern loss again over the weekend against FC Augsburg at home made it worse for them as they welcome the Catalonia's in the Champions League tonight. The loss is evidently not good for the team's spirit ahead of the clash against Barcelona at the Alianz Arena in Munich.
Bayern have now not scored in 361 minutes in all competitions – their longest barren patch in 17 years – and have not won in four competitive games. They have also not picked up a Bundesliga point since their latest title success was confirmed. While Barcelona are in the run of eight successive victories in all competition, including the recent victory over Real Sociedad which saw Neymar and Pedro scoring to end the game 2-0. Neymar goal made it his 50th goal in all competitions for Barcelona in just 88 games so far. And he has scored in his last six games.
The last time Barcelona reach the final was 2011 when Pep Josep Guardiola was in charge and won the trophy. Two years ago 2013, Bayern defeated Barcelona 4-0 at home in the Champions League semi-final.
Before and after the first leg at Camp Nou, Guardiola admitted Lionel Messi is unstoppable and he is the best. After the game he made a statement that could prove his believe for his players by saying "We will see them in Munich." This statement could see Guardiola going back to his chess board to restrategize. Pep Guardiola who won the Champions League trophy with Barcelona 2009/2011 season, has encouraged his team that they need to defend well first then attack and try to score goals, but acknowledging the fact that his team needs to be patient and it can't happen 20-25 minutes, but have to use their heads and their heart. But don't expect big margins as against Shakhtar Donetsk and Porto he concluded.
