The ring on the shoe of Andy Murray could be his good luck for him as he has not beaten Raphael Nadal in their last six previous meetings. Former World number one and 'King of Clay' Raphael Nadal was defeated by Briton Andy Murray on clay court. In their previous six meetings, this is the first victory of Andy Murray of Nadal. Andy Murray won 6-3, 6-2 to stun the home fans.
Andy Murray who has earlier won a clay court title in Munich on Monday has now gone ahead to win another Spain, the Madrid Masters on Sunday evening making it two titles under a week for the 27 year old.
Murray said to Sky Sport "I played a good match, I made very few errors and changed the height of the ball extremely well, which was part of the reason why he was mistiming a few shots."
Nadal has reach the final without dropping a single set, and was highly in good spirit and showed a good form ahead of the French Open later this month. This defeat for Nadal now means dropping to seventh in World ranking, the first time out of top five in a decade.
