Juve last won Madrid in Champions League the year 2002/2003 and it was their last semi-final before this game. Once again Juve have made sure they sustain their unbeaten run at home they have made fortress.
Early goal from Alvaro Morata former Madrid player who left last summer gave Juve the early lead. Cristiano Ronaldo on the score sheet again before the half hour mark to level up the score line with a clinical header. Goal No. 76 for Ronaldo, which means he is now the all-time leading scorer in the Champions League, one clear of Lionel Messi, and ninth goal in the competition so far making him the highest goal scorer this stage of the Champions League. Early into the second half 56 minutes a pass from Morata to Tevez saw Dani Carvajal fouled Tevez and the Argentine neatly converted the penalty and made it 2-1.
The next leg of the semi-final will be next week at the Santiago Bernabue with Madrid slightly advantage of an away goal.
It was evident the midfield combination of Sergio Ramos and Toni lacked graft with the absence of the injured Modric and it made Ronaldo suffered for it. Now Carlo Ancelloti will begin to face the blame of not starting Chicarito who scored the vital gial against Atletico that made them progress to this stage, and for playing Sergio Ramos in midfield.
